Families are forever and there is no sweeter joy than knowing that.

My dearest loved ones,

It was so good to hear your voices yesterday! I've been on like cloud 11 because I got to talk to you! I know that grandpa is happy and that he will be helping me with my missionary work and helping you with everything that you need. He can watch over his Pynes from above. Families are forever and there is no sweeter joy than knowing that. Yesterday we were out knocking and we met a young lady with the most adorable blue-eyed baby. We talked to her for a minute about God's plan for his children and how she can be with her family forever. We have an appointment with her on Tuesday! Knocking is like the worst thing to me sometimes. I feel like I'm going to throw up when we leave our apartment. But I know that when I force myself to walk and knock and talk, and if I smile a bunch, the Lord blesses us with sweet people like this lady. You can just tell when you meet someone if their heart is soft, and hers definitely is. Pray that she will accept our message and God's plan for her.
My my this week has been better than the last, thank goodness. Being a missionary is literally a roller coaster. Probs just cause I'm a girl too, but I feel like I'm either way up in the sky or my heart is breaking because people just don't understand. I have some funny stories though!
We walked an hour and a half to a rest home to visit a member. She is blind, and she didn't know we were coming, so she was really scared of us and I felt so bad. She sat in her wheelchair across from us and then she kept backing up and asking who we were and why were came. She couldn't really understand us cause our Norsk is so bad, so finally we just asked if we could sing for her. We sang 2 "I am a Child of God" in English and then she thanked us. But when we asked if we could sing more, she told us no. Haha so we decided that was enough scaring old ladies for one day and we left. We're just going to try to contact the people in charge and ask if we can do music stuff for everyone there next time.
I forgot to tell you this last week, but you know Qrt, our awesome investigator? Last week at the end of our lesson I asked him why he meets with us. He said golden words to a missionary's ears. He told us that we have this light that just surrounds us and he likes our views of the world and families. AH! And also, when I was bearing my testimony to him of families, I said, "I know..." and he said, "See! There's that conviction again! You have so much conviction!" Dude. If he thinks we have light and conviction, then we are definitely going to see miracles! It made my whole day.
Hahahahah we met these Lithuanians on the street on Wednesday and they didn't really speak Norsk or English. But they agreed to meet with us and they gave us their number. We texted them the next day and asked when we could meet. This is the text that I got back: "Well, Lady Pine, it will all depend on how our work will progress. We will notify you of our achievements in that regard. On a semi-related notice, are ya interested to teach 2 non-natives some local languages? Not to mention in general chit-chat with us about world ant stuff." Why not?? I'm not exactly sure where the Lady Pine part came from. Haha I texted them back and told them we would love to help them with Norwegian as well as help them have happier lives and come to know that God lives and loves them. Wish us luck.

This past week our area had the highest numbers in the mission! This was really exciting for me because I just have this burning in my chest. I know that this is Mo i Rana's time. I can just feel it and I know that the Lord is preparing people right and left. I also know that it is through the faith and prayers and my dear loved ones that we are being so blessed. Thank you thank you thank you. I love you and appreciate you so much.
One last thing, we have a sweet member named Rannveig. She was baptized about 10 years ago and her husband really doesn't like anything to do with us or the church so she can't come to church very often. But one night last week she picked us up and drove us to her cabin in the breath-taking Norwegian woods. She made us potatoes and the most lush, juicy, pink, delicious salmon I've ever seen. And then we had strawberries and creme and read the Book of Mormon. It was such a tender mercy. She told us about how one weekend she was able to go to the Stokholm temple and get endowed. She told us the incredible feelings she felt in the Celestial room and how badly she wants to go back. Then she asked my how far away the temple is from my house. I kinda sheepishly told her about 3 minutes. She was speechless. Guys. We ar blessed beyond blessed. GO to the temple as much as possible. Serve and partake of the blessings we are so freely given and thank God.

Also, I haven't been able to watch the mission conference thing that everyone is so excited about, but I can't stress enough how important member missionary work is. I know that in Utah the missionaries aren't assigned to one ward so it's a little different, but do everything you can to help them. Go on splits with them, go with them to teach lessons, feed them, give them people to teach!! That's the most important one. I know that we all have people that we can invite to meet with missionaries and that it will be a rich, spiritual experience. That's my missionary preaching for the day.
My how I love you. My heart is just bursting. Thank you so much for everything. My prayers and love are always with you.
Love,
Your Søster Pyne
